"The death of Miss Elizabeth Graham Patterson, who since childhood had been a resident of Cooperstown, occurred at 8:05 o'clock Thursday morning of last week at the Mary Imogene Bassett hospital where she had been a patient for twelve days. She had been regarded as making a satisfactory recovery from an attack of pneumonia, until the development of a heart complication and death ensued quite unexpectedly. Miss Patterson was born September 29, 1876, at Camp Supply, a pioneer Army Post in North Dakota, the daughter of Brigadier General John H. Patterson and Mary (Forbes) Patterson. She came to Cooperstown with her family in 1887 but went to Fort Cook with her father shortly before his retirement. She attended the Cooperstown High school from which she was graduated with the class of 1893, which held its fiftieth reunion last June at Commencement. Keenly interested throughout her entire life in social and civic affairs, Miss Patterson devoted her many fine qualities of mind and heart to her community and her friends ... Surviving is an only sister, Miss Helen M. Patterson of Cooperstown. A brother, Stuart F. Patterson died several years ago. Dr. Henry Stuart Patterson and Arthur Cox Patterson of New York City are cousins. Large numbers of friends gathered at St. Mary's church Saturday morning for the last rites in honor of the deceased.
