Shirley Jean Posch, 74, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, Kansas.

She was born September 10, 1940 in Mt. Hope, Kansas, the daughter of Neil and Betty (Rogers) Austin. Shirley was a graduate of Severy High School. During her school years, she was very active in 4-H, especially showing grand champion short-horned cattle at the county fair and at the American Royal in Kansas City.

In 1958, Shirley was united in marriage to Ray Joslin. Ray was killed in a tragic trucking accident 40 days following their wedding.

On September 29, 1959 in Fredonia, she was united in marriage to Herman E. Posch. He preceded her in death December 16, 2002.

Shirley was retired from Airosol in Neodesha after 30 years of work. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Fredonia. She was also a past member of Helpful Neighbors Club and the Sacred Heart Altar Society.

Tiffany Piatt, Tierra Wambsganss, Tianne Wambsganss,Darrin Valdivia, Uzziel Martinez, Eliezer Martinez,Shelby Posch and Caitlin Posch

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, Harold Posch; and one daughter, Rita Campbell.

A rosary and prayer service will be said at 10:00 A.M. followed by funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Stephen Thapwa officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Timmons Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with the Sacred Heart Church and the American Lung Association and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
