Carl J. "Dudie: Houseal, Sr., 86, of 15 S. Queen St., Maytown, died of natural causes Friday at St. Joseph Hospital. He was the husband of Minerva Arnold Houseal. They observed their 58th anniversary in April. Born in Maytown, he was the son of the late George and Mabel Morton Houseal. He worked as vice president of manufacturing at the former Bachman's candy company. He later became plant manager of the former Mount Joy division of Peter Paul Inc. until his retirement. He was a member of Maytown Church of God. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Carl J. II of East Donegal Township and Donald E. of Manheim Township; one brother, Norman Houseal of Maytown; one sister, Kathryn, wife of William Hollenbaugh of Ephrata; and five grandchildren.
