Elmer E. Angenendt, 64, of Slater, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Donald Martin as he sings "In The Garden" and "Will the Circle be Unbroken." Pallbearers will be Billy Drummond, Brent Drummond, Jeff Browning, Eric Fizer, Craig Lacey and Richard Dennis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery in Glasgow. Memorials are suggested to Butterfield Youth Services.

Born July 27, 1941, in Glasgow, he was the son of the late William and Gertie Kelso Angenendt. On April 2, 1976, in Slater, he married Shirley Wilkes Avery, who survives of the home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater. He retired from Standard Havens in Glasgow as a foreman, with nearly 40 years of service. He later worked for two years at BHA in Slater.

Additional survivors include two sons, Greg Angenendt and Terry Angenendt, both of Columbia; two brothers, Jimmy Angenendt of the state of Illinois and Richard Angenendt; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stepsons, Ken and William Avery; one brother, Billy Angenendt; one sister, Frances Fizer; and two infant brothers.
