William married Mary Ollie Anderson, January 28, 1880 in Montgomery Co., Kansas, they were still married in 1900 Census but in 1910 census, Salt Springs, Greenwood Co., Kansas, she was living along and listed as divorced.

Obituary.
William R. Richey was born April 22, 1846 and died October 6, 1918 aged 72 years, 6 months and 14 days. His early life was spent in Southern Indiana. He with his parents came to Kansas in 1865, locating on a farm near Neal he became one of the pioneer settlers of Greenwood Co. He opened a large nursery business at that place. Later he received a diploma from the State Veterinary board and ever since has practiced this profession over a large territory.

In 1873 January 23 he was married to Hannah M. Ewing and to them were born two children. Osborn Henry having died at the age of six years. His wife having passed away March 2th, 1877, he was left alone.

On January 28, 1880 he was united in marriage to Olive M. Anderson and to this union was born eight children. He removed to Fall River, where he resided until the children reached maturity.

He moved to Severy, and on Nov. 17, 1913 was married to Mrs. Lucretia I. Tull who preceded him on March 11, 1917.

He began his christian experience at the early age of 24 years when he was united with the Methodist Episcopal church and remained an earnest and devoted christian having his membership in the Severy M.E. church at the time of his death. He was always kind and thoughtful of those near him and possessed a large circle of friends and acquaintances, and merited the honor and respect of all who knew him.

His last days were saddened by the absence of his two sons who are in the service of their country on foreign soil.

Funeral services were conducted at the residence October 7, and interment in the Twin Grove cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his death two sisters, three brothers and seven children, one daughter, Mrs. Barbara McGinnis having died March 27, 1916. The children are: Mrs. Eva McGinnis, Fall River, Kansas; Mrs. Lula Wilmoth, Talala, Oklahoma; Mrs. Anice Seago, Severy; Mrs. Emma Robinson, Fall River; Will C. Richey, 43 Aero Sqd., Liverpool, England; Mrs. Mary Hall, Elwood, Ind.; T.J. Richey, American Headquarters, Camp Stanton, Winchester, England.
