Ather, Mary U., 81, of St. Petersburg, passed away Monday Dec 8, 2014. She came here in 1945 from her native Brooklyn, NY and was a 1951 graduate of St. Petersburg High School. She was the principal's secretary at Dixie Hollins High School for many years. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul W. Ather; one son, Mark J. (Melody) Ather; three daughters, Paula M. (Kelvin) Roberts, Carol A. Alberts, Suzanne H. Ather; four sisters, Jean Takach, Carol Hay, Victoria Stickney and Frances Warwick; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Paul, Abigail, Olivia, Amelia, Dillon, Bryan, and Kristy. Visitation is from 10 am to service time at 11 am, Thursday Dec 11 at E. Dale Gunter Funeral Home 4100-16th Street North.
