Catherine was the daughter of Ada and Nancy (Johnson) Law. She married Neri Henry Secrest on Aug.8,1868 in Christian Co. Illinois, she was Neri's first wife. Catherine and Neri lived in Christian Co. until c.1875 then moved to Harper Co. Kansas. They had four children, Luella, Eugene and Hattie where born in Illinois, son Fred was born in Kansas. Catherine died in Harper Co. and is probably buried in the Spring Grove Cemetery where her father is interred. After her mother, Nancy Law, died in Christian Co. Ill., Catherine's father, Ada Law, her uncle George Law, her sister Sarah Louise Law Houser, and brothers Leroy, Leander and William moved to Harper Co. Sometime around the death of Catherine, Neri returned to Christian Co. Illinois where he married Anna J. Watson.
