Carol Lynn Crownover, 59, of Norman died Monday, April 24, in Norman. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunset Chapel with Pastor Larry Ice officiating Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Primrose Funeral Service is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Crownover was born Sept. 12, 1946, in Norman to Edgar Leon and Reba Imogene (Barnes) Gaddis. She married Curtis Crownover July 13, 1967. She worked at Griffin Memorial Hospital for 28 years and retired June 2005. She began her employment at Griffin as a psychiatric attendant in the nursing department. In 1983, she completed her master's of social work at the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She accepted a social worker position and worked on various units of the hospital. In 1994, she was promoted to position of GMH Performance Improvement Coordinator. Her talents for organization, attention to detail and her experience working with diverse individuals and groups contributed to the success of improvement projects and survey preparation. Her co-workers remember her intelligence, knowledge of hospital history and functions and willingness and compassion in working with others to complete difficult tasks.?Her hobbies included genealogy, searching the Internet and her grandchildren. She often said her grandchildren were her "flowers" of life.

Mrs. Crownover is survived by her husband Curtis of the home; five children Michael Autry of Norman, Curtis "Rocky" Autry of Norman, Vicki (Crownover ) Travis and husband Robert of Norman, Charles Crownover and wife April Peevyhouse of Lexington, Gary Crownover and wife Kelly of Norman; 19 grandchildren Robby, Jenny and Cody Autry, Natasha Autry, Destyn Velez, Amaziah, Calandra, Tori, Seth, Leslie and Baby Travis; Caitlynn and Cierra Crownover, Tobra and Gary Crownover, Brendon and Chelsea McCurry, Zachary and Tyler Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
