Marie Anna (Felten) Petersen was born in Niagara Falls, NY and passed into God's hands just in time to celebrate a 68th wedding anniversary with her husband, Herman Petersen, who passed away in 1997.
Marie's parents were William O. Felten from Montreal, Canada and Marie A. Ogaer from Quebec, Canada.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roland Felten.
Marie came to the Fresno area in 1920 where she has resided for the past 86 years, devoting her entire life to making a home for her family and raising her two daughters.
Her love and loyalty to her family will always be remembered. We loved her dearly and she will be deeply missed.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the highly competent and caring staff of the Fresno Heart Hospital and San Joaquin Gardens for all their help and guidance these last few months.
Marie is survived by her sister, Cecilia Wisotzke of Hemet, CA; two brothers, Henry Felten of Fresno and Art Felten and his wife Emily of Reseda, CA; and her two daughters, Carolyn Petersen of Clovis and Marjorie Paregian and her husband Abe of Fresno.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be at Belmont Memorial Park on Thursday, May 4, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.
