Stella Gibbs was a sister in law to my Grandmother Ruby Lanning. For some reason she ended up with custody of my Aunt (mom's half sister) Marjorie Gibbs. Marjorie died at the age of 16.
Stella's brother Arthur Gibbs was married to my Grandmother at one time.
I've been making phone calls and also will be writing a letter to try and find out what Marjorie died of.
I admire Stella for taking Marjorie in. I've not been able to find out why Stella had custody of my Aunt. I will continue to look for answers.
