Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby for Helen Bischoff Volk, 102, Fargo, formerly of Rugby, who died Thursday, Jan. 15 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo.

Burial will be in the spring at Little Flower Catholic Cemetery in Rugby.

Helen was born Jan. 22, 1912 near Berwick (McHenry County), a daughter of Nicholas & Elizabeth (Schwan) Bischoff. On Feb. 27, 1933 she married Peter Volk at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Fulda. They farmed in McHenry County until 1950, when they moved to Rugby. She worked as a cook at Little Flower School for 22 years, retiring in 1984 at the age of 72. In 2010 she moved to Villa Maria Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society at St. Anselm's and at Little Flower Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children, Bernadine Jundt, Fargo; Clara Axtman, West Fargo; Nicholas Volk, Pembina; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa Halvorson, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; grandson, Timothy Jundt; siblings, Lena Kuntz, Pauline Klause, Katherine Voeller and Pete, Jack and Vincent Bischoff.
