Obituary

Billie Louise Hunter was born on April 19, 1927, in Ector, Texas, and went on to Glory on April 7, 2022. Our precious mom, granny, and a friend have left this world to meet Jesus in Heaven, her eternal home. She was such a jewel to everyone who knew her.

Billie lived a very full life and loved playing basketball in school. As a young woman, she was a waitress. She went on to have a wig shop, work at Justin Boot Company and did piece work at Double B Manufacturing. In her senior years, she went to homes of shut-ins and fixed their hair.

She would also do hair at the very funeral home that is laying her to rest but finally had to retire when she had a small stroke.......She loved every minute of it!

She also loved going to lunch and playing dominoes at the senior center with her friends. She would say she was "going to work" and laugh. She loved playing dominoes and "42".

Another very special thing she loved was going out with her friends every July 4th. The "girls" who went on this annual outing to celebrate our great nation were Chris, Mary, Donna, Louise, Irene, and, of course, Billie. They started doing this in 2005 and continued through last year. Granny was getting weaker last year, but she went, and they dropped her back off at the door. They would dress patriotically and decorate the car, then they would go eat breakfast a Cracker Barrel. After breakfast, they would HIT THE TOWN and many casinos scattered across Oklahoma. (It would have been fun to have been a fly on the wall in that car.....and hear them laugh!)

ABOVE ALL ELSE, She was a prayer warrior and her relationship with God was undeniable!

Billie is survived by: Her only daughter: Helen Hernandez (who cared for her mother during her illness) A son: Lindsey Stephens, and wife, Faye, son: Paul Stephens, and wife, Billye Sue, Step-son: Charles Hunter, and his wife, Mary, Step-daughter-in-law: Cherrie Hunter.

Stephens, (Married almost 50 years and father of her children) 2nd Husband: Harry Hunter, (Married almost 20 years) Son: James Dee, Stephens, Step-Daughter: Jean Whatley, Step-Daughter: Margaret Dilden, Step-Daughter: Linda Perez, Step-Son: Jerry Mack Hunter, Grandson: Larry Burke, Granddaughter: Lisa Stevenson.
