Beatrice Mae Minamoto of Denton, MD went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the William Hill Manor in Easton, MD. She was 77 years old. Born in Boston, MA, Bea was the daughter of the late Nathan French and Vergie Grace Rowan French. Bea was the beloved wife of Ben Minamoto of Denton. She will be greatly missed by her five children: Wayne Phillips and his wife Melanie of Tallman, N.Y., Jeff Phillips and his wife Sue of Monsey, N.Y., Cynthia Thomas and her husband Nick of Greensboro, MD, Diane Jenkins and her husband Ray of Dagsboro, DE, Kimberly Dyar and her husband David of Newark, DE.; nine grandchildren: Rebecca Jenkins, Joseph Church, Johnathan Church, Jeremy Church, Justin Phillips, Meghan Phillips, Derek Phillips, Cory Phillips, Casey Palumbo; seven great grandchildren; her sister, BetteLou Ehrlich; and many nieces and nephews. Bea moved from New York to Greensboro, MD in 1972 and will be remembered as a former owner of the Riverside Hotel. Restoring the hotel and restaurant to a successful and well-known enterprise was a major achievement. She also worked in managerial positions in the food industry for many years at various businesses on the Eastern Shore. She was an accomplished and published author of stories and poetry. She loved working outdoors and enjoyed creating and caring for her plant and flower gardens. She never encountered a weed that was left in the ground. Her home was filled with family, friends, love and good food. Bea had a close walk with God that was a source of strength, comfort and joy to her. She would share her faith with any and all. Worshipping and serving at the Gloryland Tabernacle was a vital part of her life. She will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts. A celebration of her life will be 11 AM Thursday, October 21st, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton where friends may call from 6 until 8 on Wednesday evening. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery, 24865 Meeting House Road in Denton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial donations to the Gloryland Tabernacle, 1003 Camp Road, Denton, MD 21629.
