Son of Otis Daniel Hale and Abigail Mary "Abbie" Comstock.

He married Mary Mahoney on 5 Nov 1887 in Keene, Cheshire, New Hampshire. They had children:

At the 1900 census of Keene, New Hampshire he is called a teamster. In 1910 he was a machinist's helper in a railroad shop. At the 1930 census of Keene, he reported working as a patrolman for the State Highway. In 1940 he was called a laborer for the Highway Department.

After 4 weeks in the Elliot Community Hospital in Keene, he died there of heart failure at the age of 73.
