Barrett Rites Set Monday
Vada M. Barrett, 88, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Idabel, died Wednesday, March 12 at the Arizona Pioneers Home in Prescott. She was born July 15, 1908, in Idabel to E. K. Holman and Betty Hill. Barrett had been a resident of Arizona for 54 years and a resident of Mayer for 35 years. She married T. L. Barrett in Idabel on Dec. 22, 1924. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a mid-wife twice, and was very caring and helpful to anyone who needed help. She also helped her husband in the family grocery store. She grew up in Forest Grove, living in the Nita Ausmus place. Her husband worked for 17 years for Frank Wooten before moving to Arizona in 1942. She is survived by a daughter, Wyota J. Griffin of Mayer, Ariz.: and a niece, Vada L. Boyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. L. Barrett; and a son, Kenneth Dale Barrett.Graveside services will take place Monday at 2 p. m. at Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. OC Sutterfield officiating. Services in Arizona were held Saturday .Memorial contributions may be made in Barrett's name to any charity, or Arizona Pioneers Home, 300 S. McCormick St., Prescott, AZ. 86303.Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz., assisted the family with arrangements.
