Richard Dean Colgrove, age 63, went home to our Father in Heaven on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Richard passed away peacefully on Casper Mountain while on a family outing with his wife, two daughters, and youngest son.
Richard was born on May 4, 1951 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He is the fifth child of six born to George William Colgrove and Pearl Louise Van Winkle.
Richard married the love of his life, Dena Vilate Soffe, on July 12, 1991 in Casper, WY. The happy couple and children were recently sealed for all time and eternity on April 21, 2012 in the Billings, MT Temple. Richard is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed serving in each of his callings.
Throughout his years Richard loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and especially the mountains. Richard loved to spend time with his wife and children and over the years had many dogs that he adored. He was a talented leatherwork artist and a welder by trade.
Richard is survived by his wife, Dena, his children, Steven Farnsworth, Lucas Colgrove, Ashlyn Colgrove, Julienn Colgrove, Robert Colgrove, his siblings, Bill (Annette) Colgrove, James (Vaunda) Colgrove, and Marje Holliday and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Richard Soffe, two brothers, Larry Colgrove and R. Gene Colgrove and infant son, Spencer Colgrove.
Services for Richard were held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 31, 20014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints Wolf Creek.
