She was married to Charles A McMurray Jr on Aug 21,1937 at St Patrick's Catholic Church, Newark, NJ and a honeymoon cruise followed to Cuba on the USS Shawnee. In 1950 Elaine and Charles moved to 127 Mountain Ave.,Caldwell, NJ from Bloomfield, NJ where they raised 5 children Charles Augustus III, Mary Elizabeth, James Francis, Margaret Elaine, and Dennis Joseph.
Elaine died suddenly on 10 November 1971 from a fall in the bathroom.
A devout Catholic with near daily attendance at St Aloyisus Church Caldwell, her life was centered on her family. Elaine's husband Charles later remarried, died 13 April 1988 and is buried in St Catherine's Cemetery, Sea Girt, NJ.
