Mr. Messenger was born July 12, 1922, in Channing to Clyde and Helen Messenger. He attended school at Middlewell Community and Dumas High School. Pat enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and served in Italy during World War II. He married Victoria Skelton of Channing on Oct. 17, 1953.

Pat was a land appraiser. He worked for Texas Veterans Land Board and Equitable Insurance. Pat also served on the board of directors for the Amarillo Production Credit Association.
