Many of us on Find A Grave give special attention to the Civil War soldiers but seem to take for granted the contributions of their wives. Consider Eliza Jane: the mother of ten children, she saw her husband Benton go off to war in 1861, be wounded at the Battle of Shiloh, serve time in a Confederate prison, then be released, only to lose his life in the horrific explosion of the steamer Sultana en route home in 1865. Isn't she equally deserving of being remembered?

Matilda/Mathilda? -- in the 1880 census, William J. Overstake & Eliza Overstake had with them a 1-year-old child named Matilda. A Matilda Overstake about the right age married [George] Preston Crisenberry in 1899; but that marriage record identifies her as the daughter of Samuel Overstake and Nancy Edington, so she can't be the daughter of William J. Overstake & Eliza. Can anyone clarify?
