Bertha Isabelle "Belle" Reynolds was the daughter of William W. and Lucy K. Reynolds. She married first William Thomas Ripley, son of Major General William Young Warren Ripley and Cornelia Thomas on 14 Apr 1884 in Rutland, Vermont. They had three children: Helen Janet (Ripley) Buckingham, William Reynolds Ripley, and Edward Warren Ripley, MD.

William died of tuberculosis in 1893. Belle remarried Edward Sprague Marsh on 22 Oct 1901 in Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont.
