Tony Parker


Tony Parker, age 81, of Richmond, Ind., died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at his residence.

He was born May 29, 1924, in Laurel County, Ky., to George Houston Parker and Nuba Grimes Parker and had lived in Richmond most of his life.


Tony was the founder and operator of Tony's Car Sales.

Mr. Parker was a member of the Elks Lodge 649 and the Town Club. He was active with the Home Folks Jamboree Party aired on WKBV in the 1940s.

Survivors include his wife, Amie Willine Conley Parker, to whom he married March 3, 1945; three sons, Daniel L. Parker and his wife Linda of Richmond, Ted A. Parker and his wife Angie of Richmond and Michael R. Parker and his wife Pamela of Land 'O Lakes, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Shaffer of Richmond and Georgia Bredwell of Eaton, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Shelly, Ralph, Randall and Roy; two sisters, Cecil Patton and Myrtle Robinson; and one granddaughter, Tricia Lynn Parker.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2006, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, Ind. Rev. John H. Bredwell will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
