She had been diagnosed with cancer in June 2004, undergoing extensive treatments, throughout this hard fought journey. Ramona was a true fighter, and cancer was nothing but a word in her eyes.
Family was very important to her. Ramona had been a loyal employee to Saint Agnes Medical Center for 15 years. The friendships she made there, were held close to her heart. She was admired by many, for her drive and determination.
She rarely missed work, unless it was to watch her children's sports events, or attend award ceremonies. She was known as a hard worker, and always went out of her way to help others, no matter how tired she was. She always thought about other people before she thought about herself.
She was a dedicated mother who would do anything for her children, no matter what the distance. Ramona shared many talks and dreams with her children and family, before she departed. She strongly believed in her children's potential, and constantly reminded them to stay in school, and struggle everyday to be a better person.
She was a strong woman of God, and her faith was unbreakable. Through this battle, she brought many people to the Lord, made changes in hearts, healed family wounds, and showed that miracles can happen.
She outlived her life expectancy, and did things, in her vital cancer stage, that surprised most. She knew in her heart she had just a little bit more to see on earth, and will continue to watch everyday, with her hand in Christ. She has truly touched everyone's life in many ways, and fullfilled her duty on earth. She couldn't have done any better of a job.
Ramona's smile, and sparkling brown eyes, will never be forgotten. She immediately brought life to any room, with laughter, and endless stories to tell. She always maintained a sense of humor, no matter what the situation. The memories she has left us with, will be cherished always. Her strong presence will forever be felt, and her kind spirit lingers within us all. Her suffering and pain has been eased by the Lord, and she is now restored and whole. She was too precious for this world.
Her husband and children anticipate the day till they can join Ramona in Heaven, once again. And that day, will be a sweet day to remember. I Love You Mom. "Levanto Mis Manos..." Ramona will join her first-born child in Heaven, Erica Michelle.
She is survived by her parents, Epilito and Maria Mireles; her loving husband, Tom Jaramillo; and her four children, Thomas Anthony, Vanessa Michelle, and Angel Nicole.
She is also lives through her brother, and seven sisters, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers will continue to carry on her legacy. She had a outstanding support system, and endless love from everyone.
