On March 7, 2006 at 6:47 am, God took another angel home. He called Ruby Sparks to Heaven. She was born in Pickton Tx, the daughter of Robert David and Hattie Savilla Jarrett Miller. She married John W Sparks Jr on Sept 6, 1941 in Purley. He preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs Sparks was a retired machine operator for H.D. Lee Co and also retired as a cook at the Travis Elementary School. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs and a member of the Wesley Quilting Club. Survivors include three daughters, Reba Irene Gulsby of Universal City, Margaret Ann Cook of Houston and Linda Carol Tubesing of Quinlan; one son John W Sparks III of Kilgore; one sister Essie Belle Lev of Friendswood; nine grandchilden, Tony Osborn, Michael Osborn, Kevin Cook, Robert Cook, John Sparks IV, Penny Sparks Haley, Matthew Wilhelm, Stacy Wilhelm and Kyle Wilhelm and 11 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband John, one granddaughter, Tammy Michelle Sparks, two brothers, Ocie Lee Miller and Buford Miller and one sister, Rosie Jane Miller.
