She was born March 11, 1864, in Oakley, Ill., eldest daughter of Patrick J. and Catherine Karr McGarry. She was the first baby to be baptized in the old St. Patrick church.
On April 8, 1885, she was married to Conrad G. Ernest at Gibson City. He died in 1939.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George E. Vance of Bement, Mrs. E.T. Henricks of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, V.R. and R.L. of Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Peterson, Mrs. T.J. Ryan, Mrs. F.R. Young, all of Decatur, 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Two daughters and a son preceded her in death.
She lived in Decatur 58 years, coming here from Gibson City.
Requiem High Mass will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
