Marriage bond for Mary "Polly" Snow and William Ballard is dated 4 March 1795 in Albemarle County VA. William and Mary came to what is now Monroe Co WV in 1795 and settled near Peters Mountain but the next year they moved to the Fletcher Place located near the Ballard Cemetery on WV Rte 219. They had nine children: Riland, James Snow, William, Amelia "Millie", Beverly, Perlexana "Lexie", Winslow, Rudollph, and Tavener.
