Walter Edward Shue, 88, was welcomed home into the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, December 3, 2014. His parents, Harvey Leslie Shue, Sr. and Lizzie Dale Smith Shue, who preceded in him in death, passed away when he was a child and he spent his early childhood at the Junior Home Orphanage in Tiffin, Ohio. When he grew older he lived with his brothers and sisters. He served in the Merchant Marines and later moved to Siler City. He retired as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service in Siler City.

He is survived by his wife: Cristina (Cimino) Shue of Siler City; daughters, Brenda Brady and husband, Donnie of Jamestown, NC, Gloria A. Terry and husband, Joe of Asheboro; step-daughter, Monica Goodwin and husband, Douglas of Siler City, NC; seven grandchildren, Brian Brady, Carrie Thurman, Alyssa Gaetani, Brandon and Jackson Goodwin, Wendy Holland and Joey Terry; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle E".

He was a faithful member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church which he loved and supported throughout his life.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 5, 2014 from 10:00—11:00 AM at Rives Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, 4338 Rives Chapel Church Road, Siler City with Dr. Tripp Foltz officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chatham County Department of Social Services Foster Children's Fund, P O Box 489, Pittsboro, NC 27312..
