Barbara J. Solomon, 83, New Castle resident, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22,2015 at Henry County Hospital.
She was born Oct. 4,1931 in Ogden, IN a daughter of the late Ferdnand and Linnie Mae (Longwell) Kraft. She was raised in the Knightstown-Ogden area and was a graduate of Knightstown High School.
She loved sharing time with her family and enjoyed working as a Foster Grandparent for several years. Her favorite hobbies include sewing and working crossword puzzles.
Left to cherish her loving memory include: four children Pearl (Ken) Dodson of TN., Diana Ford of New Castle, Jerry (Tammy) Solomon of New Castle and Dorothy Solomon (companion Daniel Temich) of Huntington, IN.; seven grandchildren Travis Alford, Boots Ford, Michael Alford, Robert Swim, Daniel Temich, David Poynter and Stephen Poynter; two great-grandchildren Jamica Ford, Queeny Alford; one sister Ruth Ann Sander; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, husband Robert Solomon; a granddaughter Lola Alford and a brother William Kraft.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wed. Jan. 28, 2015 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
