Sylvia McGahuey, a six-year resident of Wenatchee, and a former resident of Duvall and Bothell, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Sylvia was born on March 13, 1921, to Erick and Lena Kragness in Seattle. She was raised in Minnesota and returned to Washington after graduating from nursing school. She was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years in the Seattle area. In October of 1956, she married Robert McGahuey. They made their home near Bothell where they raised four children and then moved to Duvall after retirement. She was active in her church and enjoyed reading, puzzles, travel, and quilting. She is survived by a daughter, Terri McCready of Everett; three sons, Wayne (Linda) McGahuey of Cashmere, Mike (Patti) McGahuey of Duvall, and Don (Linda) McGahuey of Wenatchee; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and nine brothers and sisters. There will be a private graveside service in Duvall.
