Berry services held

Funeral services were held at the chapel of Banks and Craft Funeral Home Nov. 1 for James W. Berry, 86, who died at the Hazelwood Sanatorium, Louisville, after a long illness.

The Rev. James Ray and the Rev. Guy Deane officiated. Burial was in the Thornton Cemetery.

Mr. Berry was born at Hopkinsville and was a son of the late Elizabeth and James W. Berry.

Surviving are the following children, Ilah Justice of Louisville; Mable Morgan of Middletown, Ohio; Ora Lee Goodman of Marrow, Ohio; Cecil Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio; William Berry of Middletown, Ohio; Vada Francis Burrows of Louisville; Kathryn Daugherty, Louisville; Carolyn Fleenor, Cincinnati; Charles Berry, Houston, Texas; Daniel Berry, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Molly Hall, Cleveland, Ohio; 40 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Berry, a retired miner, had lived in Fleming most of his life and had spent most of his working days with Elkhorn Coal Co.
