“Grove City Record”, Friday, November 30, 1945:
“Mrs. Irene Hensel succumbs suddenly. Death came suddenly to Mrs. Irene A. Hensel, 3826 South Broadway, last Thursday evening. She became ill a few hours after she had enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner with her immediate family and upon the advice of her physician, was rushed to Grant hospital, where she died a few hours later. She is survived by her husband, Fred Hensel; a daughter, Dorothy; two sons, Cpl. Richard Hensel, U. S. Marine Corps in China, and John; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Witteman, Mrs. Ica Fleck, Mrs. Grace Kuper, and Mrs. Iva Babbert; and two brothers, Ray and Cecil Borror. Mrs. Hensel retired from teaching a few years ago, in which profession she held a life certificate. At the time of her death, she was president of the Paschal Post, American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Norris Funeral Home and interment was made in the Grove City cemetery.”
