Mary S. Kann, 79, of 1740 Walnut Bottom Road, Newville, died Wednesday, August 23 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 26, 1926 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County; she was a daughter of the late Boyd L. and Helen Dyarman Singiser.
She was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville and was a children's Sunday school teacher, years ago she taught children's Sunday School at Hays Grove United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Donald G. Kann who died June 11, 2004.
She is survived by one son; Boyd D. Kann, Newville, one daughter; Kathryn E. (Mrs. Harold) Bowers, Newville, three sisters, Mildred Foreman, Towson, Md., Elizabeth Maxey, Pikeville, N.C. and Peggy Jean Snyder, Concord, Calif., nine grandchildren; Michele, Dan, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Joe, Tabitha, Jean, Charles and Tamara, ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by one son, George J. "Joe" Kann, three sisters; Esther Singiser, Clara Jane Bittinger and Frances Dutnin.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 29 in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle at 3 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Jonathan M. Bowers. The viewing will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
