"MADISON - Josephine Caravello, age 95, died on December 23, 1985, at a local nursing home after a long Illness. She was a former resident of 715 Mound Street, where she lived for 38 years in the Greenbush area. The former
Josephine Gambino was born in Palermo, Sicily on April 4, 1890. She was married to Phillip Caravello on February 17, 1912, and arrived in America on the SS Canada on May 12, 1912. Her husband preceded her in death on Mother's Day June 12, 1953. She was also preceded in death by six children; one Infant daughter Angelina, five sons, Jimmy, Joseph, Sam, George, and Santo. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Lee) Boyce of Milwaukee, Catherine LeTourneau of Madison; one son, Philip of Madison; one sister, Stephana of Palermo, Sicily; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 26, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church.There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to St. James Church or to the Apostolate of the Handicapped. Fitch-Lawrence-Sanfillippo Funeral Home, 6021 University Avenue, Is in charge of the funeral arrangements."
