Gladys Arch Oct. 22, 1925 - Jan. 25, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Gladys Theresa Arch, RN of South Bend passed away peacefully at the home of her son, Terry, January 25, 2015. She was born October 22, 1925 to Larry and Severina Laskowski. On February 4, 1950 she married Joseph R. Arch, who preceded her in death June 13, 1991. Surviving are 3 sons, Dr. Joseph Arch, Sr., DDS of Chesterton IN, Gene Arch of South Bend, IN and Dr. Terry Arch, OD of Orlando, FL, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also, one sister-in-law, Lorraine Sikora, RN of Phoenix AZ. Preceding her in death was one brother, Dr. Joseph Laskowski, DDS and two sisters, Mary Ann Laskowski, RN and Lorretta Soja, and one sister-in-law, Joan Pap. Gladys was a lifelong resident graduating from St. Joseph Academy and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Mishawaka, IN-1947. As a registered nurse she specialized in cardiac/intensive care, later retiring from St. Joseph Medical Center after 25 years of service. She will be forever remembered as a loving and providing mother, very dearly missed. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 1 to 6 pm and Friday, January 30, 2015 from 3 to 8 pm, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 3 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with entombment in a private family mausoleum to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
