Frank S. Obropta, 75, of 8 Melrose St., Glastonbury, died Tuesday at his home. Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, he lived in Glastonbury more than 60 years.
He was formerly employed by Billings and Spencer of Hartford and later by Hamilton Standard as a polisher for 23 years, retiring in 1957. He was also a supernumerary policeman in Glastonbury from 1920 to 1951. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, its Men's Club and served as trustee of the church for many yeaers. He was a member of the John A. FlemingCouncil 2533, KofC in Glastonbury and the Modern Woodmen of America.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary A. Palasay Obropta; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur K. Trowbridge and Mrs. Theodore A. Leach, both of Glastonbury; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, South Glastonbury. Memorial donations may be made to the Glastonbury Ambulance Assn., Main Street, Glastonbury.
