ALBERT SULLIVAN, RETIRED SUFFOLK COURT OFFICER
Albert A Sullivan, 76, of 60 Rockwell st., Dorchester, a retired court officer and deputy sheriff in Suffolk County, died yesterday.
Born in Roxbury, he made his home in Dorchester for mor than 60 years. He and his wife, Rose (Heintz), celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 29, 1956.
Mr. Sullivan served more than 10 years as a Boston policeman and for a time with the Boston and Maine Railroad police force. He was appointed a court officer in 1940 and retired in 1954.
He was a charter member of the Holy Name Society of St. Matthew's Church, honorary life member of Dorchester Lower Mills Council, K. of C.; and a member of Bishop Cheverus Assembly, fourth degree, K. of C.
In addition to his wife, he leave three sons, Walter L. of Seattle, Atty Richard A. of Cohasset, former general superintendent of the M.T.A., Atty Ralph W. of Quincy, a former state representative; a daughter, Mrs. Madelene Bryson a Boston school teacher; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three brothers, Dr. Joseph L. of Roxbury, George T. of Dorchester, and Frank G. of Miami; and a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Trundy of Jamaica Plain.
A solemn requiem Mass will be sung Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church.
