She was born February 12, 1918, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late William and Edna Rogers, and stepdaughter to William Lutz.
Mrs. Marchand was a member of Newell United Methodist Church and the church's Methodist Women.
She was a graduate of Brownsville High School and became a licensed practical nurse in 1968 at Charleroi-Monessen General Hospital, where she was employed until her retirement in 1975.
Mrs. Marchand enjoyed her faith, her family, crocheting, going to the beach, attending church gatherings and visiting with her friends and loved ones.
On July 26, 1940, she married Lewis V. "Rip" Marchand in Winchester, Va., who passed away April 20, 2005, at the age of 92.
Also deceased are a daughter, Kathy; three sisters, Alice Boyd, Ruth Harger and Louise Hillegass; and a brother, Sonny Rogers.
