Born Feb. 8, 1920 in Owen County, he was the son of John B. and Catherine (Miller) Wells.
He retired from Crane as a supervisor, and he also farmed. He was a part-time minister of the Church of Christ in Worthington for more than 10 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Greenfield.
Survivors include: his wife Ruth (Collenbaugh) Wells of Greenfield; a daughter Phyllis and her husband Dennis Fiscus of Greenfield; a son Norman E. Wells and his wife Dee of Chrisman, Ill.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters, and an infant granddaughter.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with Pat McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
