Mary Katherine Jamison

December 30, 1923 - January 27, 2015

Mary Katherine (Miller) Jamison, 91, Kokomo, went to spend eternity with her loved ones on Tuesday, January 27th, at Waterford Place in Kokomo. Mary was born December 30th 1923, in Sweetser, IN, to Charles and Nellie (Rademaker) Miller. Following her mothers' death in 1930, Mary moved to Ladysmith Wisconsin to live with her aunt and uncle, Joseph and Kate (Rademaker) Schmitz. She was a 1942 graduate of Sweetser High School, and supported her school as a cheerleader. Mary married the love of her life, Montgomery Garfield Jamison on July 22, 1944.

She was a Delco Electronics retiree, and a more that 50 year member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds, tending her flowers and spending the winter in Florida.

Mary is survived by her six daughters, Cheryl Shane, of Swayzee, Patrica (Lynn) Shaw, of Grabill, Sheila (Bill) Glover, of Worland, Wyoming, Mary Theresa "Muggs" (Jerry) Dillman, of Kokomo, Julia (Ed) Cochran, of Kokomo, and Joan "Annie" Adams, of Kokomo. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Barbie (Kent) Greene, Bart Albright, Tony (Linda) Glover, George (Michelle) Glover, Brad (Mindy) Carnes, Kim (Maurice) Berbel, Jared (Rachel) Jamison, Brian (Angie) Carnes, Matthew Adams and his fiancé (Renae Aeschliman), Nathaniel Dillon, Kent (Rachel) Shane, Chuck Adams, Mark (Sara) Adams and Valerie Dillman. Mary also had 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Monty, Mary was preceded in death by her only son, John Elwyn Jamison, her sister Julia Sachse and brother Charles Joseph Miller.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Waterford Place for her excellent care. We would also like to thank Serenity Hospice, especially Lisa and Theresa for their kindness and compassion.

The funeral service will be held for Mary at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street with Father Marty Sandhage celebrating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. Mary's family will be receiving relatives and friends for a time of visitation on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. till the time of the service, also at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go to the Monastery of the Poor Clares and the Kokomo Rescue Mission, envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
