Madeline Pauline Bausch was daughter of Charles Bausch, of "Prussia" and Pauline Woerner, of Jersey City Hudson NJ. She was born 23 June 1879 i Weehawken Hudson NJ. Madeline had 3 brothers: Charles F., Frank C. and John and a sister, Annie. Her mother remarried after Madeline's father died, to Peter Valentine Cline, a Civil War soldier. Madeline had 2 step-brothers by that marriage, Walter Oscar and Edward Hawthorne. Madeline often used her step-father's surname, although there was no formal adoption that I am aware of.
Madeline married Frank Newkirk Sept.10, 1901 at Grove Church, Hudson Blvd, New Durham NJ, "Tuesday evening at 8:00", written on their wedding invitation. They moved to Queens NY. Madeline and Frank had one child, Elmer Frank Newkirk who married Dorothy Louise Warren July 1934. They also had a summer home in Olive Bridge Ulster county NY near the Ashokan Resevoir.
