Sarah Frances Underwood, widow of the Rev. Neuville D. Fanning, formerly pastor of the Oak Park Congregational Church of Minneaspolis, Minn., died Tuesday of paralysis, at the home of her son, Neuville O. Fanning, 794 St. John's place. She was born in California, Pa., March 31, 1840. She had made her home in Brooklyn for the past fourteen years and was connected with the Grace M. E. Church, Seventh avenue and St. John's place. Until prevented by illness she was active in church work and that of the W. C. T. U. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. J. D. Powell of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., and two sons, Frank B. of California, Pa., and Neuville D., formerly of the Brooklyn Eagle. The funeral services were held at her late home at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning, the Rev. Mr. Couch officiating. The interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
