E. Gordon Dillon
E. Gordon Dillon, a lifelong resident of Salem, died Tuesday evening at the Mary McClellan hospital in Cambridge, where he had been taken Saturday. Mr. Dillon had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services will be held at 9 am Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal church by Rev. Victor Dowdell. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. Members of Salem post, American Legion, will act as bearers and as a guard of honor at the service.
Mr. Dillon was born in Salem March 1, 1897, the son of John L. and Fannie Dillon. Before retiring Mr. Dillon operated a coal and feed business established by his father.
He was a member of St. Paul's church, former junior warden of the church, and for many years church organist. He was a member and former president of Evergreen cemetery association, director and former president of the Washington county Home for Aged Women, and a charter member of Salem post, American Legion.
There are no immediate survivors.
