Lewis H. Simmons, age 84, passed away on Jan. 25, 2015, in Shalimar, Fla. He was born on May 14, 1930, in High Point, N.C., to parents, Roscoe L. Simmons and Ann Jones Simmons.
Lewis was a great family man and a loving father. He married Loretta A. Crist in 1951 and the couple had three children together. Their family also includes five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Loretta Simmons, of Shalimar. He is survived by his son, Craig Simmons of Mobile, Ala.; his daughter, Cynthia Foreman of Crestview, Fla.; and his daughter, Amanda Jouret of St. Petersburg, Fla.
A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home 113 Racetrack Rd. NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL. Burial will take place on Friday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery.
