Evelyn M. Adams, age 85, a resident at Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Roaring Spring, died Wednesday at the home. She was born in Altoona the daughter of the late Nelson C. and Gladys M. (Morgan) Cruthers. She married Clyde F. "Jack" Adams on August 18, 1948. He died February 11, 2005. She is survived by 2 children, Barbara Edmundson and husband Mel of East Freedom and Jerry Adams and wife Catherine of Waterport, NY; 4 Grandchildren, Shaun Edmundson and wife Jess of East Freedom, Curtis Johnson and wife Mary of Fort Benning, GA, Mark Johnson of Fort Stewart, GA, and Andrew Johnson and wife Randi of Albion, NY; 6 Great Grandchildren, Savanna, Charlie Jo, Bailee, Addison, Hunter, and Eli; and a sister, Shirley Fries of Roaring Spring. Evelyn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring. She was a 1947 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She had worked many years at the Roaring Spring Department Store and then had worked in the cafeteria of the Roaring Spring Elementary School. She enjoyed knitting and plastic canvas needlework. Evelyn, along with her husband, Clyde, delivered meals-on-wheels for many years. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday in the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM Monday by Pastor Kevin Locker. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring. Contributions in Evelyn's memory may be given to Homewood at Martinsburg.
