Duane E. Abel, 77 years, of Lambertville, MI, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, in Lake Park. Born October 21, 1925, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Willard and Mary L. (Weot) Abel. A US Navy veteran of WWII, Duane married Freida Seiler on May 26, 1955, in Temperance, MI. He was a graduate of the former Lambertville High School in 1943. He was employed by GM Powertrain for 40 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1982. Duane was a member of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Dept. #2, Lambertville for 27 years, where he served as fire chief from 1962-1977. He was also a member of the VFW, Post 9656, Lambertville and the GM Retiree's Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Freida; children, Kathleen (Raymond) Cordrey of Holland, OH and Ronald (Denise Rorrer) Abel of Perrysburg, OH; brother, Norbert ( Marjorie) Abel of Lambertville, MI and 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
