Caroline Elizabeth Tyler, dau. of Pascal Paoli Tyler and Elizabeth "Betty" Baker, b. of record Apr. 24, 1802 at Brooklyn, Conn. She d. Oct. 12, 1864 at Philadelphia, PA (PA Death Rec.) and is interred at St. Lukes Episcopal churchyard at the Germantown section of the City of Philadelphia.

Through her mother, Caroline was a 7th generation lineal descendant of the Plymouth, Mass. immigrant Isaac Robinson (1610-1704), the only child of Rev. John Robinson (1576-1625) and Bridget White to make it to America, having arrived in Feb. 1631 on the ship Lion. Isaac's father was the celebrated pastor at Leiden, Holland of the core 1620 Mayflower passengers who founded the Plymouth Colony.

Caroline's father was the oldest half-brother of Gen. Daniel Tyler, grandfather of Emily Kermit Carow, the 2nd wife and First Lady with Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., 26th Pres. of the United States.

On Nov. 24, 1824 of record at Brooklyn, Conn., Caroline m. Hulings Cowperthwaite, Jr., s. of Hulings Cowperthwaite and Sarah Tallman, b. Apr. 21, 1802. He d. April 28, 1873 at Washington, D.C. and is also interred at St. Lukes churchyard at Germantown, Philadelphia. They had nine known children, but unfortunately only two would marry and leave descendants. The majority of the remaining children died at varying ages of consumption.
