Maxine had taught school in Pettis County, and had retired as the head cashier from Union National Bank after 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harry H. Mackesty in 2000.
She is survived by three nieces, Kay James and her husband, Jon Boothe of Las Vegas, NV; Alta Lee and her husband Gordon Richardson of West Chester, PA; and Sue Dailey of Corpus Christi, TX; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral services will be today at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with the Rev. Bob Burk officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
