Born in Milwaukee, a son of Timothy Watson and Gertrude (Hunter) Goodrich. He was musically talented studying at the University of Berlin, and at other music schools in Europe. In 1890 he joined his father in the T. W. Goodrich & Son Company until his father retired, and the name was changed to William O. Goodrich Company, manufacturers of linseed oil. Mr. Goodrich and Miss Marie Pabst, a daughter of Capt. Fred Pabst and Marie (Best) Pabst were married on Nov. 22, 1892. They had six children; Lorraine Elizabeth, Frederick Pabst, William Osborn, Jr., Marie Best, Hunter, and Timothy Watson the second.

Mr. Goodrich has contributed greatly to the muscial organizations of Milwaukee as a vocalist and in his support of various musical clubs and societies.

He enjoyed horseback riding, and was one of the organizers of the Hunt Club.

Goodrich Avenue was named in his honor about 1950.
