Obituary.

Isaac Newton Atwood

Isaac Newton Atwood was born in Sangamon county, Illinios, on March 26, 1844. He came to Kansas in 1870 and resided in Northern Kansas. In 1879 he was united in marriage to Sarah Hanna Pape and to this union were born six sons and two daughters, all of which were present at his funeral exept one son. In 1861 he heard his country's call and enlisted in Co. G 38th Illinois infantry and was in active service until the close of the war.

He united with the Christian church in 1899 at McPaul, Iowa, and has been an adherant of that faith since.

He departed this life on Feb. 10, 1916, at 12:40 a.m., aged 71 years, 10 months and 15 days.

He leaves a wife, six sons, two daughters and 18 grandchildren to mourn his loss.

The funeral was held from the house of T.H. Gerrard, east of Severy, Feb. 11th, conducted by Rev. Mahaffie. Interment in Twin Groves cemetery.
