Joseph Klein was born in Sharon, Walworth County, Wisconsin, December 4, 1859, and died at his home, three and a half miles east of Delphos, September 2, 1921.

He came with his parents to Kansas in 1879, when 20 years of age, and has spent 42 years of active life in the vicinity of Delphos. 34 years of that time was spent at the home where he passed away, and from which he was carried September 4th by loving hands to the beautiful city of the dead.

He was married to Amy Disney October 10, 1900. To them was born three children – Helen Leah, Jessie May and Charles Christian.

He was a very quiet, honest, industrious man, honored and respected by his friends and neighbors. He was a member of the M.W. of A.

He leaves a faithful wife, three children, an aged mother 91 years old and four sisters – Mrs. L.H. Stauffer of Minneapolis, Mrs. Sophia Neumann, Mrs. A. Hollis and Mrs. Grace Stauffer, Delphos and many other relatives, friends and neighbors.

His funeral was held in the home September 4th, at 2:00 p.m. conducted by G.S. Smith. A very large gathering of neighbors and friends paid a loving tribute to his memory. Burial in the Delphos Cemetery.
