Mrs. Ashlock was born June 27, 1915, on a farm in Avondale to Clarence P. and Nolia Shirley. She graduated from Northside High School, attended Denton Teachers College and worked as office manager for Grief Brothers Corporation until her retirement in the mid 1980's. She was a member of Rosen Heights Baptist Church and the Bluebonnet Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.H. "Lige" Ashlock; parents, Clarence P. and Nolia Shirley; sister, Thelma Shirley Sessions; and brother, J.C. Shirley.
Survivors: Daughter, Andrea Ashlock Jones and her husband, David Wayne of Lake Jackson; granddaughter, Meredith Anne Jones of Bryan; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
